Thanksgiving Travels to Atlanta for a Holiday Weekend

Hello friends and welcome to my blog!
I wanted to share a couple of pictures from our recent trip to Atlanta to visit our daughter. This was our first time to spend Thanksgiving in Atlanta. We had dinner at the Livingston which was a nice treat.

I love the picture above of Eddie and Dallas that I snapped as they were enjoying time on the bench while waiting for our car to be brought around after dinner. The weather was perfect and the temperature was in the high 60's.

The only problem was Trey had to stay back at the apartment because he came down with a terrible cold. We made sure we brought him something special back to enjoy in bed.

Above is a picture of myself and Eddie just as we were about to go inside for dinner. This was my first time this year I have had the chance to wear tights and boots! It was finally cold enough to wear them.

The dessert station was very pretty and I had to take a picture to share with you. I love how they had it all set up in the corner with the beautiful chandelier. It was like liquid gold dripping from the ceiling.

We also celebrated Eddie's birthday on this trip. Dallas came up with a great idea to wrap all of his gifts and then had me wrap all of those in this very large box. It was fun to watch him unwrap everything which you can see below in the video I put together and shared on my Youtube channel.

The next day Dallas and I attended a class on how to make candles at CandleFish. It was a lot of fun and something great to do as a girls day out! You could also get several of your friends together and make an event out of it.

Here we are after we put our aprons on and were getting ready to take out seats. Dallas had the opportunity to take this class for two other events so it was great to have her be able to give me helpful tips along the way. She loves this type of activity and she is great at it.

Here we are in the candle library with over 100 scent combinations. Each scent has a primary family and then you mix the primary with other scents. Very educational and full of great information.

As you can see below we were well on our way to creating our candles.

We had such a great time picking out the different scents that we liked. I love the idea that none of their items have names and they only go by numbers. This allows your brain to focus on the details of the scent and not what you think you might not like because of the name.

I love that so many people ask if we are sisters! I will absolutely take that as a compliment.

It was great to have Dallas drive us around in her new car. I was so excited to see it for the first time on this visit. She did a great job picking it out and comparing it to other models to make sure it was a great value.

Come along for the fun in this great video I put together of our candle making adventure. Also be sure to subscribe because there is so much more to come. Vlogmas is well underway I know you will love it!

This Year's Black and White Buffalo Print Christmas Tree

Welcome to Vlogmas Day Two as I share a look at my Dining Room Christmas Tree which I decorated in Black and Silver. This was a first for me and I must admit I love the way the black looks!

I started putting a Christmas Tree in my dining room about four years ago and now I can not imagine not having one. I enjoy seeing it every day during the month of December but its extra special on Christmas Day while we are all sitting around the table.

The snowflakes were the perfect addition because they were large and took up a lot of space but also looked great hanging from the ribbon which coordinated with the table theme.  I picked up a set of them from Hobby Lobby and they are also shatterproof. This is perfect since we will have a new puppy running around the house during the Christmas holidays.

Be sure to see my video below because I share how easy it is to create the ribbon and snowflake look.

I love how the bow turned out and it made the perfect tree topper. I mixed my metals on the table and within the tree with touches of silver and gold.

My mother helped pick up the different ribbons as we were both on the hunt for everything black, white, and gold. She found these at different locations from Hobby Lobby, JoAnne's Fabrics, and  Costco.

Below you can see a more detailed look at the tree along with ideas. I really enjoyed decorating this year's tree with the new color scheme. I hope you also enjoy it! Be sure to subscribe to my Youtube channel because every day for the month of December I will have a new and fun video coming your way!

See you in the next post!

Black & White Buffalo Dining Room Christmas Table Tour

I am so excited to share this year's Christmas Table with you! This is the first time I have not used red and green as a color theme and I must admit I am excited about how it turned out!

I am sure you remember that my Fall Tablesetting was all around this black and white buffalo print. I wanted to carry as many of the pieces over to Christmas as possible. I will share a link to every item that I am able to find. Here is a table runner like mine- HERE

You will see in the video at the end of this post that I share a tutorial on how to make these napkin rings. I love that I was able to use my Sugar Paper ornaments from the Target collection that I picked up last year. This was a set of four and I added two of the stockings so I could complete my eight place setting.

Two years ago I found these nutcrackers at HomeGoods and they just made the table. They are standing guard with the black and white outfit.

My new addition to the table this year are these two metal silver Christmas trees that I placed on both ends of the table and they go great with the tall centerpiece. Both of these came from Hobby Lobby and have a nice heavy weight to them.

I normally do not pick up Christmas decorations before Christmas because I like to catch the sales but HomeGoods had such amazing prices. When I saw this large tree I had to pick it up and it was only $14.99. I love the look and style and it looks great with the two small trees on the end.

I also dressed the table up by adding the white placemats except they are linen napkins. I found that the placemats were too large and the linen napkins were a perfect size and helped me accomplish the look I wanted. Again HomeGoods is the best place for linens.

I plan to share all during the Holidays season so be sure to also follow me on Instagram so you never miss out on the fun and great ideas. Follow HERE

You can see a more detailed look at the table theme below in the video I put together for my Youtube channel. Hope you enjoy!

Check back for the next post as I share how to Christmas tree comes together using this theme! See you tomorrow for Day Two of Vlogmas !
