Chocolate Chip Cookies & Home Video Tour

Let me start by saying these new chocolate chips are amazing! I hope this is not a seasonal item and will be one they keep in stock. They are chocolate chips filled with peanut butter. They also have mint, Carmel, cherries, and other items. I cant wait to try them all.

 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs,
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips- I used the bag above

Pre-heat oven to 350.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda, set aside
Using a mixer, mix peanut butter, butter and sugars on high until light and fluffy
Beat in the eggs and vanilla until mixed
Stir in flour mixture until combined with mixer on low speed. Take off the mixer and by hand
 stir in chocolate chips
Chill dough for 1 hour in freezer or two hours in your refrigerator.

Spray pan with Pam to help with sticking.
Place dough balls on the lined cookie sheet 1-2 inches apart
Bake for 14 minutes or until cookies are lightly brown on the edges

Love recipes that I can just throw in my mixer and go!

Pancake Muffins Both Plain and Blueberry Recipe

This recipe is a must to keep on hand. You can make batches of these and keep them in the refrigerator and heat up in the morning for about 10 seconds just to take the chill off. I love having these on hand and making before school for my son.

3 cups All-purpose Flour
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
3 Tablespoons Sugar
3/4 teaspoons Salt
2-1/2 cups Milk
1 Tablespoon White Vinegar
2 whole Eggs
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
4 Tablespoons Butter, Melted
Blueberries (optional)
Warm Syrup, For Serving

Preparation Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. (**See note below.)

Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
Stir together the milk and vinegar and let it sit for 1 minute. Whisk in eggs and vanilla.
Combine dry ingredients and wet ingredients, then stir in melted butter. If batter is too thick, stir in a little milk.
Spray a mini-muffin pan generously with baking spray. Fill cups 2/3 full. If using blueberries, drop 2 to 3 blueberries into each cup.
Bake for 8 to 9 minutes, or until golden brown on top. Let sit in the pan for 1 to 2 minutes, then turn them out of the pan. (Use a small knife if any are stubborn.)
Serve warm with warm syrup!

**425 will result in crisper edges. For a softer muffin, bake at 400 for 11 minutes

As you can see I drop blueberries in half the batch and leave half of it plain.

I love how the blueberries just pop inside the pancake muffins, they are so yummy!

Best of all is to heat your syrup for about 15 seconds which really takes it up a step.

So yummy and special.

Perfect for the holidays for early mornings when guest are waking up or that Christmas morning brunch.

To store them I place in a large container and keep them in the refrigerator. I will take a couple out in the mornings and heat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.

Our Thanksgiving 2014

This is the first year I put my Christmas items out for Thanksgiving Dinner instead of my Fall items. I am just really in the holiday spirit and was ready to decorate early. Here is a look at how I had everything decorated.

I always receive such great comments about my Nutcrackers and here is my secret.....every year the day after Christmas I go straight to Pier 1 and pick up two new Nutcrackers to add to my collection. I have been doing this now for 6 years so my collection has grown.

I also pick up several ornaments from Pier 1 that goes with my theme for each room. I like to put Christmas trees in different rooms and each have a color theme. Pier 1 is perfect to add color ornaments to your tree.

I was so proud of the bow that I made for the top of the tree.

Everything on my table is from Pier 1 over the years except for the plates. They are from Target several years ago. I have the entire snowman collection of serving dishes also which are from Pier 1 and match perfectly.

I am so proud of the garland I made this week. I just love the look.

Below is my kitchen table. The nutcrackers are from Pier 1 and the plates are from the special Target collection last year. Be sure to notice next to each glass is a miniature nutcracker!!!!

This is my fireplace mantel in my family room. I am thinking about hanging a garland from it but not sure. Do you think I should?

I will share another blog post closer to Christmas to share the rest of our home decorated for Christmas. We will also be putting up a tree in our guest bedroom and our media room. The media movie room has our large family Christmas tree.

Love the napkins that I picked up from Pier 1 last year.

Center piece was so easy to put together. I just placed several ornaments in a large white Pottery Barn bowl.

We had so many goodies for dinner. I am going to share several new recipes in upcoming post but here is one new secret item I am using.

I cant wait to share this sausage dip with you!

I have this recipe on my blog under Game Day Buffalo Chicken Cups Recipe.

I always have an appetizer sitting out incase dinner runs behind. We also had ribs this year instead of Turkey which was fun doing something different.

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

This Weeks Finds- Old Navy, Ann Taylor, and Target

I had to share a couple of special finds from Old Navy, Ann Taylor and Target. If you have followed my blog for any time now I am sure you have seen that two of my favorite stores are Target and Ann Taylor. Love them! I will stop by Old Navy every so often but this week I found some fun things which I will share in a couple of different post.

First I have to share two of my favorite must have items for this year, leather and fur. The pants are from Target and have leather trim going down the sides. The sweater vest is from Ann Taylor and the shirt is also an Ann Taylor find. I love the shirt because across the top is a leather trim which matches the pants.

I love that the sweater is really just a vest and isn't to warm. You can wear it at the start of the late fall into winter.

It was also fun to see the temp drop down so I could wear tights and boots this week. This is a dress that is also from Ann Taylor. I love the built in scarf.

Then Dallas came home from college and we went shopping. I cant wait to share our finds later in the week but this is the sweater I wore out. We had a full day of shopping and then a girls night at the movies.

The sweater, jeans, and boots are all from Ann Taylor. Love the cable knit sweater.

I have also loved the vest from Old Navy. You can wear them in so many different ways.

I love the hunter green vest with the black turtle neck and black boots. Now is the perfect time to pick up your vest from Old Navy.

Keep an eye out for more finds that I will share later this week! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I must say I am very proud with all the parties I have attend for Thanksgiving I have really tried to stick with a pretty small  plate and pretty healthy for the most part.

Ham and vegetables!

Will you be going out for Black Friday finds???
