Reese Peanut Butter Style Diet Shake Recipe

A running buddy and I have been putting recipes to the test now that I am back to training for another half marathon and need to get back in shape! Here is one we tested last night that taste just like the candy bar!

You will need:

1 tbs of peanut butter
2 tbs sugar free butterscotch pudding mix
1/2 c water
6-7 pieces of ice
2 packets of splenda
1 1/2 scoops of protein powder
1/2 c cottage cheese

Put all of the items in a blender and blend until smooth! This is going to be about 365 calories but it beats the almost 700 calories from the fast food restaurants!

Dinner and Day of Activites at the Beau Rivage Hotel

We had a great Saturday traveling out of state to the Beau Rivage for dinner and a couple of stops for shopping. I was on the hunt for a lamp to finish a bedroom makeover project I am working on, which I cant wait to share. The good news is I found the perfect lamp and even a picture to go above the desk. We had such a great time because Eddie and Trey were busy at working helping me find the perfect one.

I wanted something tall and silver but this was a little to tall.

I thought I might want a white ceramic base but changed my mind as soon as they found this one.....

The perfect lamp. Silver, gray, tall enough but not to high. I love it!

Such a bigger helper and he was so careful!

I found this painting and knew it would be perfect above the desk. The walls will be gray and this black painting is going to really pop!

I love this picture! Makes me think about the old question, How do you see the world? Seeing it from a child's eyes is the best way possible!

To give you an idea here is a preview of the desk with the new lamp and photo. I will be painting the walls soon which will give it a completely new look. The lamp shade has a silk fabric which really lets the light shine.

Once our shopping was completed we went to dinner at the Beau Rivage in Mississippi. It was a cheat meal day so we went for the delicious buffet. I love this hotel and to make a day of it is always so much fun.

The weather was perfect and almost made you want to put the top down on the Jeep except for the 75mph interstate speed. That's the one issue I have with a soft top Jeep is the noise!!!

It was the perfect day for a ride.

I can not believe he is almost as tall as I am!

One of my favorite features of this hotel is the flower arrangement that sits in the center of the entrance. I love the color combination.

We had to take this photo because I felt like I should let down my hair to my prince below.....:)

Photo just before we started dinner. I love a buffet style for Trey because I just let him eat whatever he wants when ever he wants it. Life is to short for silly rules and why not put a smile on his face with letting him grab a jello to bring back with his dinner plate!

This photo was taken as we were leaving. We had such a great time and just really made sure the night was filled with conversation and laughs!

Oatmeal Cookies but in a Shake While Eating Healthy

I love oatmeal cookies but don't want the calories. Here is a shake that gives me the flavor!!

1 tbs chocolate sugar free pudding mix
1/8 tsp cinnamon
3 tsp chocolate chips
1/2 c cottage cheese
1  scoop protein powder
2 packets of splenda
6 ice cubes
1/2 c water
2 tbs oats

Put all items in blender and blend until you reach the consistency you like! This is the perfect after dinner treat! I also find it works great for my 3:30 snack when I am really craving something sweet!

Dallas Has Fun With Donating Time for Sorority!

I had to share a fun day this week that Dallas had where she and her Sorority Sisters collected money for a charity by taking a "Pie to the Face!" What a good sport she was!! Here are some pictures from her day!

Can you imagine pie in the face on one of the hottest days of Summer!!!

At least everyone was nice and gentle with the delivery!!

I think the first one had to be the hardest to take and get used to!!! I would have asked for chocolate filled pie!!!!!

No its time for clean up!!!

She had such a fun day and for such a fun cause!

And that's all in a days work!!!! Great job girls for working towards such a great cause!

Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwich Recipe While Staying Healthy

Sometimes I love comfort food but don't want the comfort calories. Here is an idea for a BBQ Chicken Sandwich which really isn't to bad for you.

1 large frozen chicken breast
pinch of salt and pepper
1/2 tsp splenda
1/2 no sugar BBQ sauce
whole wheat sandwich thins

Place your frozen chicken breast in crockpot and pour 1/2 c bbq sauce over it and cook for 5 hours on low. After about 3 hours you can start to shred the chicken which also helps with cooking. Then place on thins and enjoy!

Very yummy and it heats up great for next day lunch left overs!

Night At The Auction

The company I am with put on a great night of fun with dinner and an auction. There were so many prizes to bid on and the food was wonderful. I had to share a couple of pictures from the night.

I love the silent part of the auction because I think the secret is do put one bid down until the last minute. Its fun to watch people up the bid over and over as the hours go by.

The live auction is so full of excitement. They are very serious about winning. Its one of those times you don't dare want to stretch your arm because before you know it you might be the winner of a new high end prize!!!!

I love having the night to visit with co-workers.

Such a fun time and I cant wait until we do it again!!!

Happy Birthday Week for Trey

We have had such a fun week in our home. We have always had the mind set that a birthday is to be celebrated all week and not just for the day. Its fun to talk about the build up and just make it a fun time! My biggest piece of advice to parents is make it as fun as possible because it really is such a short time that you get to have everyday with them. Having just sent one to college really makes you treasure everything!

It was so much fun surprising Trey at school on his Birthday with lunch. Chick-fil-a was on the menu and he was so excited!!! I forgot how fast the students have to eat during lunch time. It really is all business so this made for a special treat!

Eddie and I surprised him at dinner with a new mini Ipad. He was really surprised because I wrapped it up like a package that came in the mail. He thought it was a school book and was really surprised when he opened it! I love surprises!

Now we are back to days that are packed with homework and running at full speed. Anytime you can fit fun in there it really is special.

His grandparents had ice cream cake for him which he really enjoyed!!! For his age his notices everything and this really meant so much to him.

Cross country is in full swing so here's to a great season!

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace.
— Numbers 6:24-26

Happy Birthday to our sweet Trey!!!
