Date Night at Costa Cucina Review

Welcome to our 2nd Date Night Adventure of 2017. If you are new to my Blog or Youtube channel this is a fun adventure we go on every other week and try a new restaurant. The goal is to not eat out during the week which saves money and calories. The reward is to visit a new location each time which allows us to try something new!

Mardi Gras is in full swing and the parades will start soon so of course, I had to grab a quick picture in front of the decorations.

This was our first visit to the IP Casino and Hotel and we were pleased. The hotel was very pretty and had little features that stood out like the light features that you can see below.

I love when a hotel brings out all of the holiday decorations and they did an amazing job with everything! From trees decorated with Mardi Gras decor and colors to wreath with the beautiful mask.

This was our first time to eat at Costa Cucina. This is an Italian restaurant inside of the IP Hotel. I thought it would be fun to visit something different than seafood and steak which is our go-to style.

There were little hidden touches of Mardi Gras in every corner of the hotel.

Mardi Gras decor was everywhere from the trees to the door entrance of the restaurant. Purple, green, and gold sparkled everywhere.

The entrance to the hotel was very pretty with the palm trees, green grass, and the sun was perfect. The weather was amazing.

I love everything about the inside of the restaurant from the dark wood to the drapes around the tables. The room had soft candles everywhere which made it the perfect date night restaurant.

We had the perfect table in the corner around the stone wall. I love the candle chandelier that was over our table.

We started off with the Seafood French Bread. It was good but not something I would order again. It was one of those dishes that was good but very heavy and light on the seafood.

Of course, our next course was the house salad which was served family style.

Trey had the Shrimp Scampi which he enjoyed. I will say that I do agree with him that we both wish they would remove the shrimp ends to help make eating pasta easier.

I ordered the Hunters Fillet and the Risotto that came with it as a side item was amazing. My steak was also cooked perfectly but I will say the sauce took away from it just a bit. It was very rich and had a dark flavor.

We had a great time together, and from a scale of 1-3, we gave the restaurant a 2. It was a place that we enjoyed but not one we would visit again. The food was good but not great for the price range. Very happy we made this one of our weekend adventure locations, and I can't wait for our next one!

Come along with us on the adventure in the video below!

See you in the next post!
